Webflow Conf 2025: Still relevent in todays world of AI?

Webflow Conf 2025 - September 17-18

I've been building websites for over a decade, and Webflow has fundamentally changed how I approach web development. September 17-18, I'll be attending Webflow Conf 2025 to see what's next.

Why Webflow Matters

Traditional web development follows a predictable pattern: design → code → deploy → iterate. Webflow compressed this into: design → deploy → iterate. The time savings are massive, but that's not the real value.

The real value is creative freedom. When you're not wrestling with CSS quirks or deployment pipelines, you spend more time solving actual business problems.

Recent Project: tirlegal.ai

I recently built the landing page for tirlegal.ai using Webflow. The client needed something professional, fast-loading, and easy to update as their AI legal platform evolved.

Traditional approach: 2-3 weeks for design, development, testing, deployment, and handoff documentation.

Webflow approach: 4 days from concept to live site, with the client able to make content updates themselves.

The difference isn't just speed—it's the ability to iterate quickly based on user feedback without going back to a developer every time.

What I'm Watching at Conf 2025

This year's conference focuses on "websites in the age of AI"—perfect timing as AI reshapes how we create and optimize digital experiences.

Three sessions I'm most interested in:

  1. Answer Engine Optimization - How search is evolving beyond Google
  2. AI-powered conversion optimization - Automated testing and personalization
  3. Latest Webflow product releases - Curious about their AI integrations

Plus, Seth Godin is keynoting. Always worth hearing his take on where digital marketing is headed.

The Honest Take on Webflow

Webflow isn't perfect. Here's my experience after using it on 20+ client projects:

What works:

  • Visual development speeds up iteration cycles
  • Client handoffs are cleaner (they can update content)
  • Responsive design tools are genuinely good
  • Hosting and performance are solid

What doesn't:

  • Complex interactions can get messy quickly
  • E-commerce features lag behind Shopify/WooCommerce
  • Learning curve is steeper than expected
  • Custom code integration sometimes feels hacky

Bottom line: For marketing sites, landing pages, and content-driven projects, Webflow is hard to beat. For complex web applications or advanced e-commerce, I still reach for traditional development.

Your Turn

Are you attending Webflow Conf 2025? I'm curious about your experience with Webflow as a production tool:

  • What projects have you built with it?
  • Where does it excel in your workflow?
  • What frustrations have you hit?
  • How are you thinking about AI integration?

Drop me a line—always interesting to hear different perspectives on tools we use every day.

If you're on the fence about attending: The online format makes it accessible, and the focus on AI + web development feels timely. Registration is still open at webflow.com/webflowconf.

Update: Limited in-person seating is available if you register for the online event first. Worth requesting if you're in the area.
